Black History Month Celebration

East High is celebrating Black History Month in a variety of ways.  FZEiAm, a club focusing on promoting diversity at East High, is spreading awareness of the many contributions of African Americans by highlighting a significant person in Black History on the announcements each morning. In addition, they decorated the hallways with posters commemorating African Americans that have had an impact on our American History.  Every Friday in the month of February, students are challenged with a trivia contest related to Black History.

The entire school is getting involved by participating in a door decorating contest. Our 5th hour classes have been challenged to decorate their classroom doors with a Black History Month theme, and it has to relate to the curriculum area being taught. Students also have an opportunity to create a graphic design or traditional poster commemorating a significant person and/or event related to Black History.
