Virtual Curriculum & Activities Night
Every year, East High School holds an event around this time called Curriculum and Activities Night. The purpose of this night is to provide the opportunity for parents and students to meet with department representatives in each curricular area to ask questions about student course selections for their upcoming school year. They will also be able to meet with coaches and sponsors from different sports, clubs, and organizations to see how they can get more involved.  I encourage every student to find an extracurricular program they are interested in and get involved.  A number of studies link participation in extracurriculars in high school to success in high school, college, and beyond.  Extracurriculars also serve as a great way to create a positive school culture and experience for our students. This year we are taking this event to a virtual platform. On Thursday, January 14th, all students and parents/guardians will be sent via email an invitation to a Canvas course called ‘ Virtual Curriculum & Activities Night’. Through this course, you will be able to see presentations from all of our curricular departments and view informational videos from our coaches and sponsors. The Canvas Parent Guardian Instructions walks parents and guardians through the steps of creating an observer account in Canvas if they have not already done so. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions about this event by contacting Ms. Vaughn.
