Teacher Andy McHaffie has helped students hone their woodworking, metal working and drafting skills in his Fort Zumwalt East High School classrooms for years. Understanding the needs of St. Charles County manufacturers, and his student’s willingness to work hard, he set out to build a bridge from Fort Zumwalt high schools to jobs in high needs areas. The @USDOL Youth Apprenticeship Program matches qualified, interested students with paying jobs with local manufacturers.
