Congratulation to Greace Reyes Castillo on being named one of the Students of the Week for January 15th! Ms. Coleman nominated Greace because she has shown much responsibility and determination from the very start of the school year. Having missed periods of class time for family reasons, she did not skip a beat once. Ms. Coleman is so impressed by Greace's work ethic and calm, sweet nature. Greace continues to knock it out of the park! Thank you Greace for being a wonderful role model for our East High community.

Even though it was relentlessly cold on Tuesday, that evening it was relentlessly positive at Activities & Curriculum Night! #FZJoy

Logan Lucas was named one of the Students of the Week for January 15th by Mr. France. Logan comes into Mr. France's Introduction to Engineering Design class every day ready to work - and then some. He is always the first person to help out when a classmate near him has trouble. Mr. France is always impressed at the forward thinking questions that he has about the topic they're covering that day. Besides being adept at the course content, Logan continually proves himself to be a great member of our classroom community. Whether offering a word of encouragement or just a pleasant smile, he shows himself to be a true asset to all those around him whether student or faculty. Congratulations to Logan Lucas!

Having added an extra day to the long weekend, we are looking forward to seeing everyone today. HS has an A Day, MS a B Day and elementary a D Day. Remember a coat. And remember that you can see meal options by clicking menu then dining in our app or on our school websites.

Congratulations to Artur Freiak on being named one of the Students of the Week for January 15th by Mr. Jaggie. Mr. Jaggie reports is an inspirational student here at Fort Zumwalt East High school as he and his brother joined the East High team last year after moving away from Ukraine. Despite the many challenges Artur faced from this move he quickly adapted and kept up with the rest of his classmates. Artur has joined the soccer team and continues to meet every new obstacle with a positive outlook. Artur’s perseverance serves a reminder that dedication and hard work create a path to success. I would like to nominate Artur as student of the week as he is an example of will power made physical.

Congratulations to Saba Woldaregay on being named one of East High's Students of the Week for December 11th. She was nominated by Mrs. Franklin who stated Saba Woldaregay has honed the art of quiet strength. As a student, Saba has found her voice more and more in discussions and in her writing. In class, she is a kind, helpful classmate. In her quiet contributions, she supports the people around her, but she's also found more confidence in her own voice. Outside of class, she shares her voice in FZEiam, contributing to the overall positivity and inclusion in our school. Last year she shared about some of the burden she carries for the genocide and devastation in her home country of Ethiopia. I'm thankful that I get to see her grow in her voice and leadership. I know she's going to do amazing things beyond East High School.
