Congratulations to Mackenzie Bristol on being named one of the Students of the Week for February 5th. Mackenzie was nominated by Mrs. Fitzgerald who says Mackenzie is a gem at East High. Mackenzie has an amazing ability to bring a class together through laughter, connections and helping each other. She is incredibly welcoming to everyone that walks through our classroom door. She isn't afraid to bring new students to her table, a quality that is often lacking among teenagers. She also creates an environment that encourages everyone to help each other, teachers can work hard to create this in their classroom, but I feel Mackenzie can make it happen in a blink of an eye. East High is a better place because we have Mackenzie walking around these halls.

Congratulations to Katie Schoenberger on being named one of the Students of the Weeks for January 22nd. She was nominated by Ms. Northrup - Katie is one of the most kind, hard working, and humble students I have ever met. She will always help her peers in anyway she can and will never ask for anything in return. She has been my photography go to girl the past year. Whenever we need an event covered, she without question will always volunteer. When ever a student is struggling with getting photos for their page she volunteers to help them with no complaints or recognition needed. I think it's time for Katie to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to her studies, and the sweet positive peer influence she is to other at FZE.
Anne Sankale was nominated by Mrs. Munro as one of the Students of the Week for January 22nd. Mrs. Munro states Anne is constantly trying to involve herself in improving our community. She is a first gen American with family from Kenya and like her father, she is very concerned with multiculturalism and community involvement. She is an amazing ambassador for student leadership. She's one of the best leaders at EAST currently. Congratulations!
Congratulations to Lauren Peca on being named one of the Students of the Week for January 22nd. She was nominated by Ms. Kern - Lauren Peca is an incredible young woman. She has been working to be a pilot for several years now. (Last summer, she became qualified to fly solo.) She volunteers with her local Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) chapter's Young Eagles program where she takes children flying in the hopes to inspire them. Additionally, Lauren loves science. It's her hope to be a Hurricane Hunter pilot for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Corps. She wants to be able to use her two passions to positively impact the world.

Congratulation to Greace Reyes Castillo on being named one of the Students of the Week for January 15th! Ms. Coleman nominated Greace because she has shown much responsibility and determination from the very start of the school year.
